War and Values

I often think that one of the main reason for wars in between civilizations is based solely on the values of those civilizations. If one does not endorse or comply to those values their are then not worth our respect. And so we will attack, try to impose and most importantly make sure that the masses believe that we are right to do so.

I believe that our fundamental nature as human beings is to take care of each other and respect one another based on the knowledge that we are ALL DIFFERENT but we are also all living on the one planet and in that sense we are not so different but we share a planet as a common denominator.

Have we become unable to do anything but to impose our ways of thinking and be right about them and giving people's behaviour adjectives such as: terrorists, rude, different (in a negative way), hurtful, bad etc... because in our view people who don't do what we want them to or expect them to do, are BAD?

The reason I have been thinking about all this is because I have hurt a friend's expectations of me. And I know that because of this the view this friend has of me have shifted.
So I became careless and did not set my priorities right in "their book".

I am often one to recommend that we take responsibilities for our actions and I a happy when someone reminds me about this.
I also understand the effects of negative feelings based on expectations.

Have done things right, or have I done wrong? YOU ARE THE JUDGE, what I can do is take responsibilities for hurting someone. But did I become a lesser friend, do I now have one of those adjectives stuck on me? Did I loose someone's respect for it?

I am at peace with the fact that the love I have for each and every one of my friends is true and is not something that I can change. It cannot be based on judging, expecting and complying. I do not love out of my expectations. Of course I am like everyone else and I get hurt and disappointed and so on, but on the scale of my physical lifetime I am able to understand the flimsy nature of those feelings and move on from them as they do not define me and the much deeper feeling of love I experience with my friends.

So one thing I want o say is I'M SORRY DutchieKiwiAussie, and I'm sorry little M; sorry I was not there sharing your first Birthday. I would just like you to know that throughout this lifetime; many times over; I will be imperfect and not always rising to your expectations...

BUT I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR FRIEND AND MY LOVE FOR YOU CANNOT BE DIMINISHED.
I DO NOT GIVE MY FRIENDSHIP WITH A RETURN POLICY BUT FOR A LIFETIME>

Love.

I am here!

I am here, not very far... I have not been away or hiding. Here I am!

A few weeks back I understood the meaning of a word I thought I knew, had and owned.

That word was ACCEPTANCE.

Wouah! Bang!

English not being my first language from time to time I understand the meaning of a word or an expression and it makes me feel good and I can't wait for the next thing I will learn. That's one of the reason I love reading because I can't see words together in their context and understand them.

Anyway, I had a few 'situations' in the past few weeks; the sort of 'situations' that would usually bring me down or make me feel stressed or angry.

One or more of the feelings previously mentioned came up and I chose to accept them.
Accept, not make it mean anything about me or about others.

Accepting is a way of being, not just a word to understand. It is something we all have in us. It is what can bring peace to you and to others.

Think of it, think of what meaning you give to the word 'accepting' in your life.

Next time you lock yourself out of the house just 'accept it' and feel the space and clarity of what you can do next instead of making yourself miserable.

Next time you think someone is wrong in his/her views, accept them and see how natural it is to be with someone who has different views.

Just accept and don't put any meaning on situations and peoples appearence, dress sense, colour, gender, religion, sexuality (the list goes on), the meanings are not real!

It's not to say that you cannot have an opinion, just think that your opinion is one of many and you don't have to make anyone believe that it is the only and true one.

You can relax, the exercise is to accept. Try it.

In the book "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle there is a reference of 3 things that you can fit in your life (experiences, situations):

Enthusiasm
Enjoyment
Acceptance

There is always a space if not for the the 3 of them surely for one of them to fit in your life.
Be enthusiastic, enjoy what you do and have a good look at acceptance.

To breathe you need lungs...

I said to my dad today that I will add a thought for his step daughter Melanie.
Melanie is in her early twenties and has been living with Cystic Fibrosis(CF) since she was born.
When her condition worsen a few years she had a lung transplant but the disease can eventually attacked the new lungs. This happened and Melanie was once again on a waiting list for lung transplant. Finally yesterday she had double transplant and everyone is waiting anxiously for the results.

I said to my dad that i would ask people who will read this to have a positve thought for Melanie, her mum Regine, her sister as I beleive in the incredible energy human beings can generate that may have an healing impact :)

Love to Melanie.

If you have to watch one movie next Week End

Original title: "Ensemble c'est tout"
From master director Claude Berri (Jean de Florette) and starring two of Frances brightest young stars, Audrey Tautou and Guillaume Canet, comes an enchanting romantic fable about a collection of misfits in Paris. Without each other, Camille, Franck, Philibert and Paulettes lives feel empty, but through one another they rediscover their passion for life and learn to face the world. Gorgeously original, full of wry humour and razor-sharp observation, Hunting & Gathering is a universal story of meaningful connections and the nurturing spirit of human relationships.

It's 1am...Thinking of Hapiness

Just a random thought but here it is:

You talk to your friends and 99% will have to mention some level of Happiness they haven't reached yet. Sounds familiar?
Well what about if it was just like this: It is like learning something new, something that makes you free. Then soon after you learn another new thing and the air around you expand, the muscle of your body have relaxed or maybe you feel yourself shivering at the transformation of your mind. IT"S THE FEELING OF HAPPINESS!
And now a secret: Happiness is here with us everyday! It is part of us. So to finally feel happiness, BE CURIOUS, LEARN, SHARE, TEACH. Recognise the world around you, it is where Happiness has been sleeping, alone and longing the be reclaimed.

HAPPINESS IS AROUND YOU SHARE BE CURIOUS LEARN TEACH LOVE DIVERSITY
